The visit to the airport was to send off their daughter, Sharifah Nuril, her husband David James Forley, and granddaughter Feona Elsie Norjannah Forley, who departed for Kuala Lumpur.

It is understood that Sharifah Nuril and her family had been in Kuching for several days to settle matters with the Sarawak Immigration Department.

Also present during the send-off were other family members, including Hajjah Sharifah Fariah, Hajjah Sharifah Nong-Jasima, her husband Haji Mohd Hakeem, and Tasneem.

The gathering provided an opportunity for the family to spend time together, sharing a meal and conversation before the departure.

The Governor and Toh Puan offered prayers for their daughter and her family, wishing them good health, ease in their affairs, safe travels, and continued blessings under the protection of Allah SWT.

The moment at Kuching International Airport reflected the governor’s close family ties and the importance placed on togetherness, even amidst official duties.

It also highlighted the balance between public responsibilities and personal commitments, showing the human side of Sarawak’s leadership.

Observers noted that the send-off was a simple yet meaningful occasion, underscoring the values of family unity and faith.

The governor’s gesture of personally accompanying his children and grandchildren to the airport demonstrated a strong bond and a sense of care that resonates with many Sarawakians who value family as a cornerstone of community life.

The event added a personal dimension to the governor’s schedule, bridging formal engagements with family responsibilities.

It also reinforced the image of Sarawak’s leadership as approachable and grounded, maintaining connections not only with the wider community but also within their own family circle.
