The event, held in Sibu, marked a significant milestone as it was the first open community Aerodance programme in the town. It combined music, rhythm and simple aerobic movements that were easy for participants of all ages to follow. The atmosphere throughout the morning was lively, energetic and filled with positive community spirit.

Participants began gathering early at the venue, showing strong enthusiasm despite the early hour. Under the guidance of trained instructors, they followed choreographed Aerodance movements in sync with upbeat music. The session encouraged physical activity in a relaxed and enjoyable setting, making exercise more accessible to families, youths and senior citizens alike.

The programme was organised by Persatuan Perniagaan Fotografi Sarawak, which took the initiative to promote a healthy and active lifestyle through a community-based fitness event. Their effort helped bring together people from different backgrounds in a shared space of health, movement and unity.

Organisers noted that the participation of around 300 people reflected strong community support for healthier lifestyle initiatives. They also highlighted that the response demonstrated growing awareness among the public about the importance of regular physical activity and social engagement through community-based programmes.

The programme was officiated by Mr Boston Ho, Special Assistant to the Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Sarawak, YB Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee, who attended on behalf of the Deputy Minister.

In his speech, Mr Boston Ho conveyed the message from YB Datuk Michael Tiang, stating that Sarawak Sunrise Aerodance is more than just a fitness activity. It represents a wider effort to promote a healthy lifestyle through movement, music and community participation. He added that such programmes help bring together people from different backgrounds, strengthening unity while encouraging healthier habits.

He further emphasised that public health is a shared responsibility. While the government continues to improve healthcare services, infrastructure, housing and environmental conditions, community involvement remains equally important. A healthy society depends not only on policy and facilities but also on the willingness of individuals to stay active, maintain social connections and care for both physical and mental well-being.

He also expressed appreciation to YB Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee, Mr Boston Ho, as well as all committee members, instructors, volunteers, sponsors and partners who contributed to the success of the event. Special thanks were also given to the participants whose strong turnout made the programme more meaningful and impactful.
