BINTULU – The SCS–KSP Group Guidance Competency Workshop 2026 was successfully conducted with the participation of more than 40 officers from various agencies, marking another step forward in strengthening public service delivery.
The workshop was a strategic collaboration between the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) and the Sarawak Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government (MPHLG).
Its objective was to enhance employee capabilities, improve teamwork, and support human capital development across agencies.
The programme began with welcome speeches by Mr Mohamad Umar Junit, representing MPHLG, and Mr Shah Razis Johari from BDA.
The session continued with a presentation by guest speaker Mr Hisyam Hajmi, Administrative Officer (Psychology), from the Sarawak Agriculture Department, who shared insights on competency building and effective workplace practices.
Participants engaged in discussions and activities designed to strengthen collaboration and improve service delivery.
Organisers emphasised that the workshop provided valuable knowledge and experience that could be applied directly to daily tasks, ensuring that public service officers are better equipped to meet the needs of the community.
The initiative reflects Sarawak’s ongoing commitment to professional development within the public sector.
By investing in training and competency-building programmes, the state aims to foster a workforce that is adaptable, efficient, and capable of delivering high-quality services.
Officials expressed hope that the workshop would inspire participants to apply the lessons learned in their respective roles, contributing to a stronger and more responsive public administration system.
