HULU SELANGOR – A senior police officer attached to the Pahang Police Contingent Headquarters has died after his motorcycle collided with a lorry in a road accident along Jalan Batang Kali–Genting in Hulu Selangor on Tuesday afternoon. The tragic incident has left the police force and community in shock as investigations continue.
The victim, Superintendent Yuslimezam Hashim, aged 51, was serving as the Head of the Logistics Department at the Pahang IPK. He was travelling alone on a motorcycle from Alor Setar, Kedah, heading back to the Pahang Police Contingent Headquarters when the accident occurred at about 4.45 pm.
According to Hulu Selangor Deputy District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Asri Mohd Yunus, initial investigations showed that the victim was riding along Jalan Batang Kali towards Genting when he made a left turn. It is believed that he lost control of his motorcycle, causing it to veer into the opposite lane.
At that moment, the motorcycle collided with a lorry driven by a 50-year-old man. The impact of the crash was severe, and Superintendent Yuslimezam sustained serious head injuries. He was confirmed dead at the scene of the accident.
The lorry driver suffered minor injuries to his face and chest and was given immediate medical attention. The victim’s body was later sent to Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Police have classified the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which deals with reckless or dangerous driving causing death. Authorities are continuing investigations to determine the exact cause of the accident, including possible road conditions and other contributing factors.

Earlier, the Pahang Police had also issued a statement confirming the passing of Superintendent Yuslimezam Hashim. The message expressed deep condolences from Pahang Police Chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman and Pahang PERKEP Chairman Datin Seri Sumarnie Haris to the family of the deceased. They also prayed that his soul be granted mercy and placed among the faithful.
The incident serves as a solemn reminder of the dangers on Malaysian roads, especially along winding and hilly routes such as Batang Kali–Genting. Authorities continue to stress the importance of careful riding and driving to prevent further loss of lives.
As the nation mourns the loss of a dedicated police officer, arrangements are expected to be made in coordination with the family and the police force.
