Sibu Jaya Festival Draws Thousands, Boosts Local Economy

SIBU – The Ai Sibu Jaya 2025 festival successfully attracted a large crowd, with over 2,500 attendees gathering along East Boulevard in Sibu Jaya.

The event, which featured cultural performances, a vibrant parade, and a bustling marketplace, was designed to foster community engagement and stimulate local commerce.

Now in its sixth edition, the festival is a collaborative initiative organized by Amcorp Group Berhad and the Sibu Coastal Electoral Council (MDLBS).

The event exemplifies a successful partnership between the corporate sector, government command agencies, and local residents.

Sempurai Councilor Petrus Ngelai, Chairman of MDLBS, emphasized that the festival’s success is a direct result of this strategic cooperation.

Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, officiated the event.

He highlighted the festival’s significant role as an economic catalyst for the region. By drawing visitors from various areas, the event established Sibu Jaya as a central trading hub for local merchants and the wider community.
