KUCHING – The Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) Sarawak welcomed a courtesy visit from the Commissioner of the Malaysian Human Rights Commission (SUHAKAM) Sarawak, Tuan Dahim anak Nadot, during an official meeting session held today.
His arrival was received by Deputy Director of Immigration (Control), Puan Norhafiza Junaidi, alongside Head of Enforcement Division, Tuan Yusdi Morshidi, and senior officers from JIM Sarawak’s enforcement division.
The visit aimed to strengthen strategic cooperation between SUHAKAM and JIM Sarawak, particularly in enhancing mutual understanding of each agency’s roles and responsibilities.
Discussions focused on immigration enforcement, management of detention facilities, and the safeguarding of individual human rights during detention, ensuring compliance with legal provisions and human rights standards.
Officials noted that the courtesy visit reflects ongoing efforts to foster collaboration between enforcement agencies and human rights institutions, ensuring that operational practices remain transparent, accountable, and aligned with national and international standards.
