Three Vehicles Damaged in Sibu Road Accident on Jalan Wong King Huo

SIBU: Three vehicles were damaged after a traffic accident occurred on Jalan Wong King Huo yesterday afternoon, leaving one motorist with minor injuries.

Acting Sibu District Police Chief, Superintendent Boniface Bajai, said the Sibu District Police Headquarters (IPD) Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division received a report of the incident at about 3.49 pm.

“The driver of a Toyota Hilux sustained minor injuries to his legs and arms. The drivers of the other two vehicles were unharmed,” he said, adding that the accident caused significant damage to the vehicles involved.

According to Superintendent Boniface, the Toyota Hilux suffered severe damage to its upper section, while the Toyota Vios and Proton Saga sustained damage to their sides. The extent of the damage prompted police to initiate a full investigation into the incident.

“An investigation paper has been opened, and the case is being investigated under Rule 10 LN 166/56 of the Traffic Rules 1959,” he said. Police are working to determine the cause of the accident and ensure road safety measures are reinforced in the area.

Authorities have urged all drivers in Sibu to drive carefully, observe traffic regulations, and avoid reckless manoeuvres, especially in busy areas such as Jalan Wong King Huo, to prevent similar accidents in the future.
