The event, held at the Sarikei Sports Complex, began as early as 7am with the “Langkah Serentak, Sehati Sejiwa” mass exercise. The excitement reached its peak during the official flag-off, officiated by the Minister of Women, Children and Community Wellbeing, Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, who is also the minister in charge of the celebration.

The 1.2-kilometre procession, stretching from the Sports Complex to the MARA Sarikei Bazaar, brought together Malaysians from all walks of life.
