KUCHING – In a heartwarming initiative ahead of the Lunar New Year, SUPP Batu Lintang Branch, in collaboration with the LintangCare Committee, distributed essential supplies to 150 households from various ethnic backgrounds this morning. The event took place at the branch, fostering unity and festive cheer across the community.

Branch Chairman and Commission Member of Kuching City North, Mr. Sih HuaTong, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Temenggong Datuk Tan Joo Phoi and all sponsors for their invaluable support. The contributions, which included rice and other food items, brought much-needed relief and happiness to the grateful families.
“This initiative goes beyond just giving—it symbolizes the spirit of togetherness and sharing, especially during the festive season,” said Mr. Sih.

Among those attending the event were notable figures John Wong and Amy Ho, who lent their support to this meaningful cause. The event’s success was largely attributed to the generosity of 10 sponsors who played a vital role in ensuring the supplies reached those in need.
Mr. Sih highlighted that the distribution effort was not limited to Chinese households but extended to families from other ethnic groups. “This reflects Sarawak’s unique tradition of inclusivity, where people from all walks of life come together to celebrate before the Spring Festival,” he added.
The distribution activity underscored the community’s shared values of compassion and unity, exemplifying the multicultural harmony that Sarawak proudly upholds.

As preparations for the Lunar New Year continue, such acts of kindness remind everyone of the importance of sharing joy and strengthening bonds within the community.
