KUCHING, March 30 – As the blessed month of Syawal begins, the Sarawak Chief Minister, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, alongside his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd. “Syawal teaches us to open our hearts, embrace forgiveness, and reinforce the bonds of brotherhood. Celebrate with simplicity, sincerity, and mutual respect,” he expressed in his festive message.

Prioritizing Safety During Hari Raya Travel

The Chief Minister also took the opportunity to remind Sarawakians about the importance of road safety during the festive period. He advised all travelers returning to their hometowns or visiting relatives to obey traffic regulations, practice patience, and ensure the safety of themselves and their loved ones.

“To those traveling home, please be mindful on the roads. Follow the rules, drive safely, and be considerate of other road users. Prioritize your safety and that of your family,” he urged.

With the Hari Raya balik kampung rush expected to see an increase in road traffic, authorities have also advised motorists to plan their journeys wisely, check their vehicles before traveling, and take necessary precautions to avoid accidents.

As Sarawakians celebrate this joyous occasion, Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi hopes that the spirit of Aidilfitri will continue to unite communities, promote harmony, and encourage acts of kindness and generosity. — TYT Sarawak
