KUCHING, 11 June 2025 – The Ops Hari Raya Aidiladha (HRAA) 2025 campaign by Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ) Sarawak has officially ended after running for a week from 4 to 10 June 2025. The road safety operation, held in conjunction with the festive season, aimed to reduce traffic violations and increase road user awareness across Sarawak.
Throughout the operation, JPJ officers inspected a total of 8,915 vehicles at various locations. From these inspections, 1,570 non-compliance notices were issued for various traffic-related offenses. Additionally, 2 vehicles were seized for serious violations.
According to JPJ Sarawak, the most common offenses found during this operation included:
- Expired driving licenses
- Unrenewed road taxes
These issues, though preventable, continue to occur due to negligence by vehicle owners. JPJ Sarawak strongly advises all motorists to renew their driving licenses and road tax on time to avoid legal consequences and ensure roadworthiness.
The agency also stressed the importance of regular vehicle maintenance. All vehicle owners are encouraged to check their vehicles’ technical condition, such as brakes, lights, tyres, and other essential components, before starting any journey, especially during festive periods.
JPJ Sarawak urges all road users to drive responsibly, obey traffic laws, and contribute to a safer road environment. Road safety is a shared responsibility, and every driver plays a role in protecting lives — their own and others.
JPJ Sarawak also expressed its heartfelt appreciation to all enforcement agencies involved in Ops HRAA 2025. The success of this operation reflects the strength of inter-agency cooperation and public service dedication.
