LANDEH, BATU KITANG – The local community of PPR Landeh gathered in unity and spiritual reflection during the Awal Muharam 1447H celebration held at Surau An Nur Mustaqim. The event, designed to foster faith, community bonding, and a sense of purpose for the new Hijrah year, was filled with meaningful activities and heartfelt participation.
The highlight of the programme was the hafazan al-Quran and azan chant competitions, which saw enthusiastic involvement from children of the local qariah. Their impressive recitations and chants added a spiritual vibrancy to the celebration, showcasing the strong foundation of Islamic learning within the community.
Present at the event were several notable figures, including:
- Ms. Naimah Salleh, Female Leader of UN N13 Batu Kitang Branch
- Councillor Shamsudin, Deputy Head of UN Branch N13 Batu Kitang
- Haji Amit bin Bakri, Head of Sebuak Village
Also in attendance was Lo Khere Chiang, who expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful celebration.
“This Awal Muharam celebration is not merely an annual gathering,” said Lo. “It serves as a vital platform for us to internalise the true meaning of hijrah—the migration towards betterment in faith, character, and community unity. Let this be a reminder for all of us to continuously strive for goodness and strengthen the bonds of ukhuwah.”
He congratulated the winners of the competitions and extended heartfelt thanks to the organisers and all attendees for their support and active participation, which made the event warm and joyous.
“May this new Hijrah year bring renewed blessings, peace, and prosperity to each one of us,” Lo added.
