KOTA SAMARAHAN – A total of 82 local organisations, including clubs, associations, and Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) in the Kota Samarahan parliamentary constituency, received a Special Parliamentary Allocation Grant of RM550,000 to support community development programs.
The grant handover ceremony, held at the Sarawak RISDA Office on Saturday, was officiated by Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development and Kota Samarahan MP, Datuk Rubiah Wang.
In her speech, Rubiah expressed hope that the funds would be fully utilized to implement programs that boost local community participation, aligning with the government’s goal of strengthening grassroots development.
“This grant reflects the government’s commitment to addressing the needs of local organisations that require financial support to drive impactful community initiatives,” she said.
Rubiah noted that this marks the fourth phase of grant disbursements for 2025, following a previous allocation of RM600,000 to 63 organisations in the first phase. She reaffirmed her dedication to supporting local groups in advancing community-focused projects, fostering economic and social growth in Kota Samarahan.
The initiative underscores the state and federal governments’ collaborative efforts to empower rural communities and enhance their well-being through sustainable development programs.
