MIRI – Miri City is set to host this year’s Sarawak Day 2025 Celebration, a grand three-day affair running from 20 to 22 July, featuring a vibrant programme designed to promote patriotism, unity, and appreciation of Sarawak’s achievements since gaining self-government in 1963.
Minister of Transport Sarawak and Sarawak Day 2025 Celebration Chairman, Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, said the celebration will feature inclusive and patriotic content that welcomes all Sarawakians regardless of race, religion, or background.
“Sarawak Day is a moment for all of us to unite and celebrate our shared history and progress. I urge all Sarawakians to participate and show our collective spirit,” said Lee during a press conference held at the Miri Division Resident’s Office on Wednesday.
The announcement followed the Main Committee Meeting No. 4/2025 and was attended by 60 state leaders and media members, including Deputy Ministers Datuk Rosey Yunus, Dato Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, Datuk Dr. Ripin Lamat, Datuk Dr. Penguang Manggil, and others.

- 20–22 July: Sales Carnival & Sarawak Talent Showcase at Miri City Stadium in collaboration with TV Sarawak (TVS)
- 20 July Morning: Zumba Ria with over 1,200 participants at stadium grounds
- 20 July Night: Other Religions Thanksgiving Ceremony at Meritz Hotel
- 21 July Night: Islamic Thanksgiving Ceremony at At-Taqwa Mosque
- 22 July Morning: Unity Walk with over 5,000 participants led by Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar
- 22 July 10am: Groundbreaking Ceremony of Marina Bridge officiated by Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Zohari
- 22 July Afternoon: Townhall Session with the Premier at Imperial Hotel Miri with 1,200+ students
- 22 July Night: Sarawak Day Assembly at Miri City Stadium, featuring cultural performances, fireworks, and folk entertainment
The closing night is expected to be attended by top state dignitaries and over 5,000 guests.
Sarawak Day 2025 will not only commemorate the state’s political milestone but also serve as a platform to rally public support toward the government’s vision of a Prosperous Sarawak through unity and active community participation.
