PKD Mobile Batang Lupar 2025 Brings Government Services Closer to Rural Communities

PKD Mobile Batang Lupar 2025 Brings Government Services Closer to Rural Communities

PUSA — Access to government services in rural Sarawak received a significant boost with the launch of the PKD Mobile Program Batang Lupar 2025, organised by the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW).

Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Rubiah Wang, officiated the program on Sunday, stating that PKD Mobile is part of a broader effort to empower rural communities by bringing essential government services directly to their doorsteps.

“PKD is KKDW’s flagship initiative to uplift rural communities through skill-building programmes, women’s empowerment, volunteer activities, economic development, and direct government service delivery,” she said.

She added that the mobile format helps overcome logistical barriers in areas lacking permanent PKD facilities, ensuring that no community is left behind in accessing information, aid, and development opportunities.

The program also featured the Mini PKD Mobile, designed to be even more flexible and adaptable for remote and hard-to-reach settlements — reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusivity in rural development.

Batang Lupar MP Mohamad Shafizan Kepli, present at the event, said the initiative is particularly timely and impactful for isolated areas like Pusa.

“This kind of mobile government outreach simplifies access for rural residents, allowing them to interact directly with agencies and receive the services they need,” he explained.

He also noted that such programmes play a pivotal role in stimulating the local economy by fostering competitive rural entrepreneurs and encouraging the promotion of locally produced goods.

The PKD Mobile Program continues to roll out across Sarawak, acting as a mobile bridge between the government and the people — transforming how rural communities connect with national development.
