Drinking Water Aid Delivered to Drought-Stricken Kampung Data Bera’an

Drinking Water Aid Delivered to Drought-Stricken Kampung Data Bera’an

BELAGA – In response to ongoing drought conditions and disruptions to the clean water supply, authorities have delivered much-needed drinking water aid to residents of Kampung Data Bera’an in Sungai Asap.

On Wednesday, a total of 204 boxes of drinking water were distributed to 34 families, benefitting 102 residents who have been significantly affected by the prolonged dry spell.

The effort was coordinated by the Belaga District Social Welfare Department (JKM), with Community Development Assistant Mohd Hasmi Mohd Narudin overseeing the delivery as the officer on duty.

This initiative was carried out under the direction of the Belaga District Disaster Management Committee (JPBD), in collaboration with various related agencies. It is part of the government’s immediate response strategy to ensure the well-being of rural communities facing environmental hardships.

Authorities emphasized that the mission is a reflection of the government’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding the welfare of its people, particularly in remote areas where access to basic necessities can be severely impacted by natural disasters and extreme weather patterns.

Such proactive efforts demonstrate the importance of disaster preparedness and the need for swift aid distribution to mitigate the effects of climate-related challenges on rural populations in Sarawak.
