Batu Kitang SABERKAS Bowling Event Strengthens Community Spirit

KUCHING – The lanes at Emart Megalanes, Batu Kawa, came alive this afternoon as 27 teams battled it out in the Bowling Competition between the Batu Kitang SABERKAS Units and the Batu Kitang DUN Invitational Team 2025.

The event, held at 3.00 p.m., was officially closed by YB Senator Dato’ Ahmad bin Dato’ Sri Hj Ibrahim. A total of 20 teams represented the Batu Kitang SABERKAS Units while another seven invitational teams participated, creating a lively and competitive atmosphere.

In his speech, Dato’ Ahmad praised the sportsmanship and unity shown by all participants, noting that the competition was not only about winning but also about building strong community bonds. “Sports bring people together, foster friendships, and strengthen our community spirit. This event proves that when we come together, we move forward as one,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation to the organisers, especially the Batu Kitang SABERKAS Branch, for their commitment in ensuring the success of the event. Special mention was given to the SABERKAS veterans, whom he described as the “backbone and inspiration” to the younger generation.

The competition saw enthusiastic participation from players of all ages, with cheers and applause filling the venue as strikes and spares were scored. Winners received trophies and recognition, while those who did not win were encouraged to continue practicing and return stronger in future tournaments.

The event was Officiated by Representative of YB Dato Lo Khere Chiang, Assemblyman for Batu Kitang and Chairman of the Batu Kitang SABERKAS Branch, who commended the community for their active involvement in local sports activities.
