Speaking at a recent key handover ceremony for government quarters in Rasau, Datu Buckland Bangik, the Sarawak Deputy Secretary to the State Government (Administration), emphasized that operating in isolated silos hinders effective governance.

He stated that inter-agency cooperation is essential to ensuring government initiatives are delivered to the public promptly and without interruption.

The event saw 16 civil servants from various agencies within the Serian Division receive keys to new residences. Datu Buckland, who represented the State Secretary, humorously noted that with this accommodation, there should be no more excuses for tardiness.

He urged the recipients to maintain their homes responsibly and to foster a harmonious, family-like community. Looking forward, he announced plans for a new 160-unit flat complex dedicated to civil servants in Serian, expected to be completed within two years.

He also stressed that all government housing must include necessary safety installations, such as fire hydrants, and provide a comfortable living environment.

Additional quarters are slated for distribution in neighboring areas, with 48 units allocated for Siburan District and 24 units each for the Tebebu and Balai Ringin Subdistricts.
