Upon arrival, the operations commander reported that the blaze had already engulfed one non-permanent structure house, which was completely destroyed. Two nearby houses also suffered fire damage of around 20 per cent and 15 per cent respectively.

The firemen acted swiftly and managed to bring the situation under control by 7.50pm. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.

Residents in the area were seen rushing to safety as thick smoke filled the air while the firemen worked to contain the flames. The quick response of the rescue team helped prevent the fire from spreading to other nearby houses.

At the time of writing, the actual cause of the fire is still under investigation. Authorities are continuing their probe to determine whether it was due to electrical faults, negligence, or other factors.

Meanwhile, JBPM reminded the public to always ensure safety measures are taken, especially in non-permanent structures that are more vulnerable to fire hazards. Proper electrical wiring, safe cooking practices, and the use of fire extinguishers at home can help reduce the risks of such tragedies.

The incident has left the affected families in need of assistance, and community members are expected to step forward to provide support.
