Two Men Found Dead in Rented House at Durian Tunggal

ALOR GAJAH – A shocking discovery was made on Tuesday evening when two men were found dead inside a rented house at Taman Cempaka 2, Durian Tunggal, here.

The incident, which occurred around 7pm, has left the local community in disbelief. According to early information, one of the victims is believed to have been hacked to death, while the second man is suspected to have died after attacking his friend.

Sources said the bodies were discovered by members of the public who then alerted the authorities. Police and medical personnel from the Ministry of Health (KKM) were immediately dispatched to the scene.

When reporters from Sinar Harian arrived, they found several residents gathered near the house, watching from behind the police line. The area had been cordoned off with yellow tape as forensic officers carried out their investigation.

A resident who wished to remain anonymous said they were shocked when they saw police cars and ambulances rushing to the neighbourhood.

“We didn’t hear any noise or shouting earlier. Suddenly, we saw police surrounding the house. Later, we learned two people had died inside,” the resident said.

It is understood that both victims were local men in their 30s. Police are still working to confirm their identities and the cause of death.

Melaka Police Chief Datuk Zainol Samah confirmed the case when contacted, saying investigations are ongoing.

“We are investigating from all angles, including the possibility of a fight between the two men,” he said.

The bodies have been sent to the Alor Gajah Hospital for post-mortem examination. Authorities have urged the public not to speculate until official findings are released.

The tragic case has since drawn attention online, with many expressing condolences and concern over rising cases of violent disputes among friends. – Sinar Harian
