AMPANG JAYA – His Majesty the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, took part in the Larian KITA ‘Saturday Night Run Ampang’ 2025, a community event held in the Ampang Jaya district.
Accompanied by Tengku Permaisuri Hajah Norashikin, His Majesty’s arrival was warmly received by dignitaries including TZA Foundation Founder, YBhg. Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Deputy President of MPAJ, Ts. Hasrolnizam Shaari, Deputy Speaker of the Selangor State Assembly, YB Kamri Kamaruddin, and Lembah Jaya Assemblyman, YB Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad.
The Sultan officiated the launch of the 5KM and 3KM categories before joining more than 3,000 runners from diverse backgrounds. His participation underscored the event’s theme, Run, Glow & Grow, which aimed to promote fitness and foster unity among urban communities.
Organised by the TZA Foundation in collaboration with the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ), the programme highlighted the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle practices.
The night run also sought to strengthen social bonds by bringing together residents, families, and youth in a festive atmosphere.
Participants were treated to a vibrant evening featuring illuminated tracks and community activities, reflecting the organisers’ vision of combining wellness with enjoyment.
The event showcased how sports can serve as a platform for inclusivity, encouraging people of all ages to engage in physical activity while building stronger neighbourhood ties.
The Sultan’s involvement was seen as a symbolic gesture of support for public health initiatives and community engagement.
His presence alongside thousands of runners reinforced the message that leadership and citizens alike share responsibility in nurturing a healthier society.
Local leaders praised the initiative, noting that it not only encouraged exercise but also created opportunities for residents to connect.
