APM Lubok Antu Safely Captures Snake in Wong Panjai

LUBOK ANTU – The Sarawak Civil Defence Force APM Lubok Antu successfully captured a snake in Wong Panjai following an emergency call from a concerned member of the public.

The alert prompted the mobilisation of a three-member APM team, who responded immediately with the necessary equipment, including a 4×4 ambulance, protective helmets and gloves, tongs, and a snake transport box. Safety protocols were strictly observed throughout the operation to protect both the team and local residents.

Upon arriving at the location, the team conducted a careful search of the reported area. After several minutes, the officers successfully captured a snake measuring approximately 1 metre in length using the tongs technique. The capture was carried out efficiently without any injuries or accidents.

Following the operation, APM officers ensured that the surroundings were safe before departing the site. The captured snake was handled in accordance with standard procedures, ensuring its safe removal from the residential area and preventing any further risk to the community.

APM Lubok Antu emphasised that such operations demonstrate the importance of trained personnel and proper equipment when handling wildlife emergencies. Residents are advised not to attempt handling snakes themselves and to report sightings immediately to authorities.

The district office highlighted its commitment to community safety through the motto: “Together Protecting – Ready to Help! Ready, Fast with Integrity.” Such operations reflect APM’s continued dedication to serving the nation and maintaining public safety across Sarawak.

Emergency calls concerning wildlife or other hazards can be reported via the official APM Lubok Antu contact numbers. The Public Relations and Documentation Unit confirmed that all operations are conducted with full adherence to safety and standard operational protocols.

APM continues to encourage public cooperation, urging residents to remain vigilant, maintain safe distances from wildlife, and promptly inform authorities of potential hazards.
