KAPIT – The JKR Islamic Welfare Association Kapit Division organised a bubur lambuk distribution programme at the Public Works Department Malaysia (JKR) Kapit Division office on 5 March 2026 in conjunction with Ramadan.
The program began with a prayer recitation, followed by remarks from Nur Azman Wan Seh, chairman of the association. He explained the activity formed part of the group’s welfare efforts to make the fasting month more meaningful while strengthening bonds among staff.
The distribution ceremony was officiated by Jawa Anak Gara, Division Engineer of the Public Works Department Malaysia Kapit. Staff from different sections attended, reflecting the inclusive spirit of the gathering where employees joined regardless of religion or background.
Sharing bubur lambuk, a traditional dish often prepared during Ramadan, symbolised unity and goodwill within the department. Organisers say activities like this keep cultural traditions alive while building stronger connections among colleagues.
The programme also encouraged closer relationships among staff, strengthening a family-like atmosphere in the workplace. Combining religious observance with community spirit helped create a supportive environment during the fasting month.
Officials expressed hope similar activities continue in the future. Welfare programmes like this help raise morale and promote cooperation across divisions.
The JKR Islamic Welfare Association Kapit Division reaffirmed its commitment to organising initiatives that benefit staff and strengthen unity, especially during meaningful occasions such as Ramadan.
