Simunjan District Council Wins Best Presenter Award at KIK 2026

SIMUNJAN – The Simunjan District Council celebrated a proud achievement at the 2026 Innovative and Creative Group (KIK) Convention organised by the Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government (MPHLG) Sarawak.

The convention concluded on 1 July 2026 with an award presentation ceremony at UCSI Hotel, Kuching. The council’s KIK Task Master Group earned recognition when team member Haji Mohd Azwan Juperi won the Best Presenter Award.

His presentation, entitled “Inefficient Incinerator Management”, impressed judges and brought distinction to the Simunjan District Council.

The Task Master Group comprises Mr Claudius Ravi Kaniasen, Ms Sofia Sebli, Ms Patricia Andrew, Mr Abg Ramzie Ena, Mr Haji Mohd Azwan Juperi, and Mr Mohammad Syukrie Abas.

Their collective effort demonstrated strong teamwork, creativity, and dedication to improving service delivery.

The project highlighted the importance of addressing inefficiencies in incinerator management, a critical issue for waste disposal and environmental sustainability.

By presenting innovative solutions, the group showcased how local councils can contribute to more effective public service practices.

The KIK Convention serves as a platform for government agencies and councils to share innovative ideas and projects aimed at enhancing efficiency and service quality.

This year’s event brought together numerous groups under the ministry, each presenting projects that tackled operational challenges and community needs.
