The operation was carried out under Ops Noda by officers and personnel from Branch D7 of the Criminal Investigation Department at the Kuching District Police Headquarters. According to Kuching District Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, the raid took place at about 2.15pm on July 3.

During the operation, police arrested seven foreign women aged between 23 and 38 to assist in investigations. Officers also seized several items believed to be linked to the suspected activities, including cash, condoms and clothing.

Initial investigations found that the massage centre was believed to have been operating as a front for prostitution activities involving foreign nationals. Police said each service was allegedly offered for RM200.

The case is being investigated under Section 372B of the Penal Code, which covers the offence of soliciting for the purpose of prostitution. Those found guilty may face imprisonment of up to one year, whipping, or both upon conviction.

Apart from the prostitution-related investigation, several of the women are also being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63. The offence relates to failing to produce a valid travel document or pass to remain in Malaysia.

Under the Immigration Act, offenders may face a fine of up to RM10,000, imprisonment of up to five years, or both if convicted. The law also provides for the possibility of whipping.

ACP Alexson said the operation reflects the police’s ongoing efforts to curb immoral and illegal activities in Kuching. He stressed that enforcement operations will continue to ensure public order and safety are maintained.

He added that police remain committed to identifying and taking action against individuals and premises involved in unlawful activities that may affect the well-being of the community.

Ops Noda is one of the Royal Malaysia Police’s regular enforcement operations targeting vice-related offences, including prostitution and other immoral activities. Such operations are carried out from time to time based on intelligence and public information.

Police also reminded business operators to comply with Malaysian laws and regulations. Premises found to be misused for illegal activities may face further enforcement action under the relevant laws.

The public is encouraged to cooperate with the authorities by providing information on suspected criminal activities in their neighbourhoods. Information from the community plays an important role in helping police prevent crime and maintain a safe environment for everyone.

Investigations into the case are ongoing, and police have not ruled out further action if additional evidence or suspects are identified.
