The Selangau District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) confirmed that the complainant had accidentally left their car keys inside the vehicle and requested assistance. APM personnel were immediately dispatched to the location to provide support.

Using specialised equipment, the team successfully opened the vehicle doors without causing any damage. The operation was completed safely, ensuring the complainant regained access to their car.

Officials explained that such cases, while not medical emergencies, are categorised as special service responses.

These operations are designed to assist the public in everyday challenges that require professional intervention, ranging from locked vehicles to road obstructions.

This latest case reflects the growing role of APM in handling diverse emergency and non-medical incidents across Sarawak.

In recent weeks, teams have been deployed to manage health emergencies, wildlife encounters, and infrastructure hazards.

Each response demonstrates the organisation’s commitment to its guiding principle of “Ready, Fast, With Integrity”.

Authorities have reminded residents that emergency services are available around the clock. For urgent cases, members of the public in Selangau and surrounding areas can reach the Civil Defence Force at 084-891285.

Community cooperation remains vital in ensuring that emergency services can act quickly to prevent accidents and disruptions.

Officials emphasised that swift reporting allows responders to intervene effectively, whether the issue involves health, safety, or everyday challenges.

As Sarawak continues to strengthen its emergency response framework, incidents like this highlight the importance of preparedness and the dedication of frontline personnel.

The safe resolution of the locked car case in Selangau serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of daily emergencies and the need for coordinated action to protect communities.
