BAU – The Bau District Council marked Low Carbon Day 2026 with a Flower Tree Planting programme at Bau Rock Garden on Friday, 7 August.
The initiative was organised to encourage greater awareness of environmental sustainability while enhancing the natural beauty of the area. It also aimed to create a greener and more welcoming environment for the local community.
The programme began with guest registration, followed by a welcoming address delivered by Cr Prem Anak Notes, Chairman of the Tourism, Community Education and General Purposes Committee.
His remarks highlighted the importance of community involvement in environmental care and the role of such initiatives in promoting sustainable development.
Following the opening speech, participants took part in flower tree planting activities. Symbolic tree planting was carried out to mark the official launch of the programme, accompanied by a short gimmick presentation.

The programme concluded with a light meal, providing an opportunity for informal interaction among participants before dispersal.
