Agricop Spurs Rural Agricultural Growth in Baleh

BALEH – Rumah Dapong, Nanga Antawau, Baleh, came alive on Saturday as the Agriculture Community Outreach Programme (Agricop), organised by the Kapit Division Agriculture Department, drew strong participation from local residents.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Deputy Minister of Digital Malaysia and Hulu Rajang MP Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong, alongside Baleh Assemblyman Nicholas Kudi Jantai.

In his speech, Datuk Wilson emphasised that Agricop is more than just an agricultural awareness programme. He described it as a vital platform to empower rural communities, enabling them to become more competitive in the agro sector.

“Through new technology and knowledge, we not only increase agricultural yields, but also strengthen the economic well-being of families in rural areas,” he said.

The programme received a warm response, with a large turnout from the local community, reflecting their strong support for the government’s initiatives in developing the agricultural sector. The event concluded smoothly, marking another success for Agricop in promoting rural agricultural progress.
