ASAJAYA – Firefighters from the Asajaya Fire and Rescue Station were mobilised on Wednesday evening, 15 July 2026, to tackle a grass fire reported along Main Street, Sadong Jaya.
The blaze broke out near Kampung Jemukan, Jalan Sadong Jaya, prompting the Alpha Team of BBP Asajaya to respond swiftly. The incident was logged at 9.23pm, with the operation led by PBK II (TBK I) Rosnin @ Othman Bin Meni. The team deployed a LFRT Mercedes Atego BJU 5996 vehicle, staffed by one officer and four firefighters, to manage the situation.
Upon arrival, the crew immediately set up firefighting equipment and began extinguishing the flames using a reel hose connected to the machinery pump. The operation continued until the fire was fully suppressed. Once the area was confirmed safe and under control, the team returned to the station.
Grass fires, though often smaller in scale compared to structural blazes, can spread rapidly and pose risks to nearby homes, businesses, and road users. Dry weather conditions and open land areas make such incidents more likely, particularly in rural districts like Asajaya.
