SRI AMAN – Fire and Rescue Department personnel in Sri Aman were deployed on Wednesday evening, 15 July 2026, to carry out a special service operation involving the destruction of an insect nest.
The incident was reported at 8.30pm from No. 66, Jalan Sabu, approximately two kilometres from the Sri Aman Fire and Rescue Station. The Bravo Team was dispatched under the command of PBK II (TBK I) Abg Mohd Faizadliee, with logistics supported by a Nissan Urvan vehicle (WUQ 7464) and a crew strength of one officer and one firefighter.
The report was lodged by a local resident, En Frederick, and received by PBB Azlan. Upon arrival, the team located the insect nest within an iron stack, as described in the initial report. Firefighters, equipped with full personal protective equipment, assessed the situation before proceeding with the removal.
Operational action involved the use of two units of Baygon spray poison to eliminate the nest. The team ensured that the site was thoroughly checked for any remaining hazards before declaring the area safe. Once the operation was completed, the crew returned to the station without further complications.
No other agencies were involved in the operation, and no difficulties were encountered during the process. The swift and efficient handling of the incident reflects the department’s commitment to community safety and its readiness to respond to diverse challenges beyond fire emergencies.
