Charity Night Run 2025 Strengthens Unity & Healthy Living in Bintangor

BINTANGOR – The Charity Night Run 2025, organised by the Bintangor Kung Siong Association, has successfully brought together the local community to promote healthy living while raising funds for education. The event, held at the Bintangor Community Hall, highlighted the importance of unity and active lifestyles among residents.

Meradong State Assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing, who officiated the programme, said the run was more than just a sporting activity.

“This charity run is not just a sporting event, but a platform to foster the spirit of unity and a healthy culture among the community. Every step tonight symbolises our love and care for our fellow community,” he remarked.

The event began at 6 pm and drew hundreds of participants from diverse age groups and backgrounds. Many joined not only to enjoy recreational activity but also to support the charitable cause.

The strong turnout reflected the community’s enthusiasm for initiatives that combine fitness with social responsibility.

Funds raised from the run will benefit two educational institutions in the district: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Bandar Bintangor and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Kai Chung.

The contributions will help cover costs for student activities, ensuring that young learners have access to enriching programmes.

The charity run featured four categories: Open Men (18 years and above), Open Women (18 years and above), Men 18 years and below, and Women 18 years and below.

The inclusive format encouraged participation from across Sarawak, with runners travelling from different areas to join the event.

Datuk Ding expressed his appreciation to all participants and volunteers who contributed to the success of the programme.

He noted that the event embodied the spirit of volunteerism and demonstrated the strength of community solidarity in Bintangor.

The Charity Night Run 2025 has become a symbol of collective effort in the district, showing that sports can serve as a bridge between health, unity and compassion.

By combining physical activity with charitable giving, the event reinforced the values of care and togetherness that underpin community life in Sarawak.
