Recent Sightings Raise Alarm in Sabah
Videos capturing sightings of crocodiles around the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, as well as waters claimed to be off Dawan Island in Sabah, have emerged over the week, stirring concern among residents and authorities alike.
Sabah Park’s director, Dr. Mclarin Lakim, has acknowledged the reports, stating that they are aware of the sightings and are taking necessary measures to address the situation. He reassured the public that continuous monitoring of the waters around the islands within the park is underway to ensure the safety of visitors and locals alike.
Vigilance and Precautions Implemented
Dr. Lakim revealed that coastal officers and rangers have been deployed to keep a vigilant eye on the area. Additionally, warning signs have been strategically placed at certain locations to alert the public about the potential presence of crocodiles in the vicinity.
