KUCHING – Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) has taken immediate measures to address public concerns regarding wasp nests discovered near the Simpang 4 traffic light area along Jalan Semariang. The presence of the nests was reported to pose potential risks to motorists and pedestrians.
A special operation was carried out today to remove and destroy the nests. The initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Petra Jaya, alongside several DBKU divisions, ensuring the process was handled safely and effectively.
The operation was organised following complaints from members of the public, who highlighted the danger posed by the wasps to road users. DBKU acted promptly to mitigate the risk, reflecting its commitment to prioritising the safety and well-being of city residents.
Officials emphasised that the joint effort was carefully coordinated to ensure the removal was orderly and did not disrupt traffic flow in the area. The cooperation between DBKU and JBPM demonstrated the importance of inter-agency collaboration in addressing community safety issues.
