Forest Fire Under Control in Kampung Jepak, Bintulu

BINTULU – A forest fire in Kampung Jepak, Bintulu, was successfully brought under control on Wednesday following a joint operation involving several emergency agencies.

The Bintulu District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) received an emergency call from the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) reporting the incident.

The MyASPA-O Charlie squad was immediately mobilised and arrived at the site at 1.48 pm to assist in firefighting efforts.

The blaze affected an estimated one-hectare area, with two hotspots identified by the fire department. With the combined efforts of JBPM, Civil Defence Force (APM) personnel, and police officers, the hotspots were successfully contained and extinguished.

Authorities confirmed that no casualties were reported during the operation. All personnel involved remained safe, and the situation was declared under control.

APM members also assisted in monitoring the area to ensure that no further flare-ups occurred. Their support was crucial in reinforcing the firefighting teams and maintaining safety around the affected zone.
