KEMAS E-Race League Boosts Digital Skills in Sadong Jaya

SADONG JAYA – The Rural Youth E-Race League, an e-sports initiative organised by the Simunjan District Community Development Department (KEMAS), has been hailed as a strategic measure to enhance the digital proficiency and competitive spirit of young people in rural areas. The programme’s closing ceremony was held at the Heritage Hall here on Sunday.

Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris stated that the event demonstrates KEMAS’s commitment to engaging the younger generation through platforms that align with their interests in technology.

He emphasised that the programme serves as both an entertainment and an educational platform, offering rural students valuable opportunities to refine their abilities, foster teamwork, and gain experience in the digital realm.

“This is more than just a competition; it is a learning experience that equips our youth with relevant skills for the future,” Awla said in his address.

He also commended the organisers and participants for their hard work in ensuring the event’s success, noting it as a positive example of collaboration between government agencies and local communities.

In the competitive eight-team tournament, De Overpower clinched the championship, receiving RM300, a trophy, and a medal.

Aogiri Shadows secured second place with a prize of RM200, while Matcha Strawberry and Fnatic Empire were awarded RM100 and RM50 for third and fourth place, respectively.

The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Sarawak KEMAS Director Anisah Saidin, Sadong Jaya Assistant Administrative Officer Abdullah Sam Yusuf, Simunjan District KEMAS Officer Maimunah Latip, and PBB Sadong Jaya Branch Deputy Mutalip Julahi.
