Elderly Man Injured After Car Skids Off Road in Lubok Antu During Rain

Lubok Antu — A road accident involving an elderly man occurred on Monday night in Sedarat Panjai, Simpang Lubok Antu, after his sedan car skidded off the road shoulder during heavy rain.

The incident was reported at around 9.42 pm, prompting an immediate response from members of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Lubok Antu District, specifically the MyASPA-O Delta team. Acting swiftly upon receiving an emergency call from the public, the team rushed to the scene to provide assistance.

Upon arrival, APM officers found the elderly man suffering from an open wound to his head, believed to have been sustained during the accident. The man was reportedly conscious but in visible pain. APM personnel provided initial emergency treatment on-site, which included cleaning and bandaging the wound to stop the bleeding before arranging for the victim to be transported to Sri Aman Hospital for further medical care.

According to the APM Lubok Antu District, the quick response from the MyASPA-O Delta members helped to stabilise the victim’s condition before he reached the hospital. The APM also reminded the public to drive cautiously during rainy weather as slippery roads increase the risk of accidents, especially in rural and dimly lit areas.

The APM further advised the public to immediately contact emergency hotlines whenever an accident or similar incident occurs so that timely assistance can be provided.

“Our members are always ready to help the community. Quick reporting by the public ensures that help can reach those in need without delay,” said a spokesperson from APM Lubok Antu.

For emergencies, the public can contact APM Lubok Antu directly at 083-584639 or the national emergency line at 999.
