KUCHING (Jan 24): A historic RM121.7 million jackpot from the Supreme Toto 6/58 lottery was shared by over 60 lucky winners on January 18, making it the largest lottery prize in Malaysian history. The incredible sum was claimed by individuals from various states, with a significant portion going to winners from Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.
Among the winners, six from Selangor and 45 others from Negeri Sembilan were awarded a share of the jackpot amounting to RM104.77 million. STM Lottery Sdn Bhd, the company behind the lottery, confirmed the impressive wins in a recent statement.
One of the major winners was a 30-year-old entrepreneur from Selangor who bagged RM34,923,156.10. He also won a System Play bonus of RM269,168.00 with his set of numbers – 5, 38, 39, 42, 46, 57. Speaking about his win, he revealed that his lucky numbers came to him after an overseas trip, just a day before the draw. He expressed his confidence in winning, especially when the jackpot exceeded RM100 million. His plan for the windfall is to invest and grow his wealth.
Interestingly, the other five winners from Selangor were a father and his sons, along with two friends. They spent RM260 on 130 sets of Lucky Pick numbers, marking their first time playing the lottery. Despite not expecting a win, they were thrilled to share the jackpot together, with each winner taking home RM34,923,156.10.
Meanwhile, 45 winners from Negeri Sembilan struck the jackpot through an innovative “Lot System” invented by a 55-year-old construction contractor. The contractor created 60 lots and invited friends and co-workers to buy into his system. The numbers were selected using his “secret formula,” resulting in a win for everyone who participated.
A total of RM34,923,156.10 and a System Play bonus of RM220,240.00 will be divided based on the number of lots purchased by each individual. The remaining RM16.96 million from the jackpot was shared by 17 tickets sold across Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Johor, with each ticket winning RM997,804.20.
This massive win has officially surpassed the previous record set in 2022, when a RM97.75 million jackpot was claimed.
