The incident was reported at 4.21pm following a public complaint, prompting immediate action by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM).

Responding officers arrived at the location and successfully freed the bird, ensuring it was unharmed during the process.

The owl had been confined in the unused structure, raising concerns among residents about its welfare. Wildlife experts note that owls play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance, particularly in controlling rodent populations.

Their presence in rural areas is generally welcomed, but intervention becomes necessary when the birds are trapped or at risk.

The rescue reflects APM’s broader commitment to community service under the principles of “Malaysia Madani”, which emphasises integrity, readiness, and swift response.

The organisation’s motto, “Serving the Nation” and “Ready, Fast, and With Integrity”, underscores its dedication to protecting both people and wildlife.

Local authorities highlighted the importance of public vigilance in reporting unusual or potentially harmful situations involving animals.

Quick reporting allows trained personnel to act promptly, preventing harm to both the creatures and the community.

Residents expressed appreciation for the professionalism shown during the operation, noting that such interventions strengthen trust between the public and emergency services.

The successful rescue also serves as a reminder of the need for cooperation between communities and enforcement agencies in safeguarding local environments.

The owl was later released back into its natural habitat, ensuring it could continue contributing to the ecosystem.

Officials reiterated that similar rescues will be conducted whenever wildlife is found in distress, reinforcing the state’s commitment to ecological preservation and public safety.
