SIMUNJAN – The second day of the PANDei Digital Literacy Workshop on 14 June 2026 continued with a series of interactive sessions designed to strengthen community awareness and understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Participants were introduced to SDG 17, which focuses on partnerships to achieve the goals, through sharing sessions that emphasised cooperation and collective responsibility.
The programme also included practical activities such as learning the colour codes of recycling bins and group exercises on proper waste separation. These activities aimed to instil sustainable practices that can be applied in everyday life.
A highlight of the day was the mini-project presentation, where five groups showcased their creativity and teamwork by presenting solutions and ideas related to sustainability.
The projects reflected participants’ growing understanding of the SDGs and their relevance to community development.
The workshop activities supported several key goals, including SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
By engaging in recycling initiatives and discussions on environmental responsibility, participants were encouraged to adopt practices that contribute to long-term sustainability.
Organisers noted that the workshop not only enhanced digital literacy but also connected participants to broader global objectives.
The integration of SDG themes into the programme highlighted the importance of aligning local community efforts with international frameworks for sustainable development.
The day concluded with a prize-giving ceremony and the presentation of certificates of appreciation to participants.
This gesture recognised their commitment and active involvement throughout the workshop, reinforcing the value of community participation in achieving shared goals.
The PANDei Digital Literacy Workshop is expected to continue fostering a digitally literate and environmentally conscious community.
By combining digital skills with sustainability awareness, the initiative aims to prepare individuals to contribute meaningfully to both local and global development.
