PM Anwar Leads Malaysia-Turkey Business Roundtable in Istanbul

ISTANBUL – Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim continued his MADANI Diplomacy mission in Turkey by leading the Malaysian delegation at a roundtable meeting with business industry leaders in Istanbul.

The session brought together representatives from 46 companies across Malaysia and Turkey, covering diverse sectors such as defence and aerospace, semiconductors and electronics, automotive and electric vehicles, oleochemicals, and the halal industry.

The meeting highlighted the importance of close cooperation between businesses in both countries, which has already acted as a catalyst for accelerating trade, investment, and technology transfer.

Leaders agreed that such collaboration strengthens the foundation for sustainable and inclusive economic growth.

Anwar Ibrahim welcomed Turkish companies to expand their investments in Malaysia, pointing to the country’s stable investment ecosystem, skilled workforce, and strategic position as a gateway to the ASEAN market.

He emphasised that Malaysia offers significant opportunities for investors seeking long-term growth in the region.

The Prime Minister assured that the MADANI Government will continue to facilitate business transactions through efficient, transparent, and investor-friendly processes.

He stressed that every investment must deliver added value, generate economic spillovers, and create quality job opportunities for the people of both nations.

The roundtable in Istanbul reinforced Malaysia’s commitment to deepening economic ties with Turkey, building on the momentum of recent high-level engagements in Ankara.

It also reflected the shared vision of both countries to strengthen strategic cooperation across industries critical to future development.
