KUCHING, 20 April 2025 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has arrived safely at the Kuching International Airport (KIA) this morning for a one-day official working visit to Sarawak’s capital.

His arrival at approximately 10.00am via an official aircraft was warmly welcomed by Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg. Also present to greet the Prime Minister were Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, members of the Sarawak State Cabinet, Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, deputy ministers and various heads of departments.

Upon arrival, the Prime Minister and his official entourage proceeded directly to Wisma Bapa Malaysia to chair the Sarawak Special Development Meeting, a key platform for aligning federal and state development goals.

The meeting reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring Sarawak’s unique needs and development aspirations are addressed effectively through cooperation between Putrajaya and the Sarawak government.

Following the development meeting, the Prime Minister will join the Aidilfitri Madani 2025 Celebration Ceremony at Stadium Perpaduan Kuching around noon, where he will mingle with the local community and dignitaries in celebration of the festive season.

Later in the afternoon, at 2.00pm, Datuk Seri Anwar is scheduled to attend the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri and Open House at Wisma SABATI, highlighting his commitment to community and family welfare.

The Prime Minister is expected to depart Kuching and return to Kuala Lumpur by 3.15pm, concluding his packed official visit.
