His arrival was greeted by the director of the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (JAWI), Tuan Haji Hanifuddin bin Roslan, alongside the mosque’s chairman, Tuan Haji Kamaldin bin Mohd Damin, and members of the committee.

The congregation reflected the strong ties between religious institutions and community leaders, underscoring the importance of shared worship in fostering unity.

The sermon delivered during the prayers centred on the theme of health as a divine trust. Worshippers were reminded that physical well-being is a blessing from Allah SWT, and maintaining it is essential for fulfilling religious duties and responsibilities to family, society, and the nation.

The message encouraged Muslims to adopt healthy lifestyles, including balanced diets and regular exercise, as part of their spiritual and social obligations.

Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi echoed the sermon’s emphasis, expressing his hope that the community would remain mindful of health care.

He highlighted the need for individuals to strengthen their spiritual well-being through increased worship and obedience to Allah SWT, alongside physical practices that support vitality.

The Governor also prayed for the people to be blessed with good health, resilience, and peace of mind. He noted that such qualities are vital for enabling citizens to contribute meaningfully to their families, the progress of Sarawak, and the prosperity of Malaysia as a whole.

Friday prayers hold a central place in Islamic practice, serving not only as a religious obligation but also as a communal gathering that reinforces social bonds.

The presence of the Sarawak Governor at the Bangsar mosque reflected the significance of leadership figures participating in these traditions, demonstrating solidarity with the wider Muslim community.

The Saidina Abu Bakar As-Siddiq Mosque, one of Bangsar’s prominent religious landmarks, has long been a hub for worship and community activities.

Events such as this highlight its role in promoting both spiritual growth and social awareness, particularly on issues like health and well-being that affect all levels of society.

The Governor’s participation in the prayers underscored the balance between public duty and personal faith.

By joining the congregation, he reinforced the message that leaders, too, share in the collective responsibility of nurturing values that sustain harmony and resilience within the community.
