KUCHING – The 2025 Sarawak Level Heroes’ Day Assembly was held with honour and solemnity this morning at the Heroes’ Monument, Taman Budaya, in the heart of Kuching.
The event was officiated by Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, who represented the Premier of Sarawak. Also present was Sarawak Police Commissioner, CP Dato Mancha Ata, alongside other top leaders from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Sarawak Contingent and veteran representatives.

The ceremony paid deep tribute to the sacrifices and services of national heroes, especially those from the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).
The assembly began with the singing of the national anthem Negaraku and Ibu Pertiwi, followed by a heartfelt poetry recitation titled “Warisan Pahlawan” by Retired Petty Officer, Teruna Mat. The crowd then observed a moment of silence, honouring fallen heroes who gave their lives in service to Malaysia.
A key highlight was the wreath-laying ceremony, where Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and CP Dato Mancha Ata laid floral tributes at the Heroes’ Monument Square. This symbolic gesture served not only as remembrance but as a call to cultivate patriotism and respect for the nation’s legacy among the younger generation.
Senior police officials in attendance included Sarawak Deputy Police Commissioner DCP Saifullizan Ishak, Heads of Departments, as well as senior officers from the Sarawak Contingent Police Headquarters and Kuching District Police Headquarters.
This annual event is a reminder of the priceless contributions made by Malaysia’s defenders, and an important platform to strengthen the rakyat’s unity and national spirit.
