Sarawak TYT and Wife Grace Sibu for State-Level Fatwa Seminar

SIBU – His Excellency the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, together with Her Excellency Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi, safely arrived at Sibu Airport at 10.35 am today to officiate the Opening Ceremony of the Sarawak Level Fatwa Seminar.

Their arrival was warmly received by senior government officials, including Temenggong Dato Sri Haji Wan Hamid Edruce bin Tuanku Haji Mohamad Hamid and his wife Datin Sri Sharifah Zaidah binti Syed Abdul Aziz, Temenggong Dato Vincent Lau, as well as several community and tribal leaders who gathered to welcome the Head of State and his wife.

Upon arrival, Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi joined in a special prayer session led by Tuan Haji Khairil Nazri, Sibu Division Imam, expressing gratitude for the safe journey and blessings for the success of the day’s programme.

The official visit of Tun Pehin Sri and Toh Puan to Sibu highlights the state government’s continuous commitment to strengthening Islamic knowledge and religious administration through scholarly discussions and fatwa guidance.

The Sarawak Level Fatwa Seminar, held at the Sibu Islamic Complex, brings together Islamic scholars, religious officers, and community leaders from across the state. The seminar aims to enhance understanding and application of Islamic rulings in line with current societal needs while upholding the principles of the faith.

In his remarks, Tun Pehin Sri prayed that all the efforts and dedication shown by the organisers, participants, and supporting agencies would be blessed and guided by Allah SWT, ensuring that the outcomes of the seminar contribute positively to the religious harmony and unity of the people in Sarawak.

The arrival and participation of the Head of State and his consort in this significant event reflect Sarawak’s strong leadership support for Islamic development, while encouraging continued collaboration among religious institutions and local communities. – TYT Sarawak
