You’ve heard of Wedding Crashers, but a snake crashing a wedding? That’s a new one! In a remarkable turn of events, the sister of the bride found herself transforming into an emergency snake wrangler during her sister’s wedding in Florence, Arizona.
Erica Rodriguez, the sister of the bride, exhibited remarkable bravery and composure when she encountered the unexpected visitor. Describing the encounter, Erica recounted how the snake, as long as she was tall, startled her initially. However, she wasted no time and fearlessly swooped in to handle the situation.
“It was like 5 feet tall, right? I don’t think I realized how big it was until I picked it up, and I was like, ‘Oh my God, this snake’s as tall as me,'” shared Erica, reflecting on the moment.
Despite the daunting size of the serpent, Erica displayed zero hesitation as she skillfully removed the snake from the wedding venue. When asked about her remarkable calmness in the face of danger, Erica credited her childhood idol, the late Steve Irwin, as her inspiration.
“I just grew up watching Steve Irwin, and he’s my role model,” Erica explained. “I learned the right way to grab a snake from his show.”
As guests marveled at Erica’s courage and swift action, they were reassured to learn that the snake was non-poisonous. Despite its intimidating appearance, the snake posed no threat to the wedding party.
