BETONG – The Sarawak State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, has carried out a working visit to Betong and Sri Aman Divisions to assess the condition of district and sub-district office facilities, as well as new sites earmarked for government quarters and office construction.
The inspection covered several key locations, including the Debak Sub-District Office, Nanga Budu Sub-District Office, Pusa District Office, and Maludam Sub-District Office.
The visit focused on evaluating the state of existing buildings, office space, and the availability of internet and Wi-Fi access, which are crucial for efficient service delivery in rural areas.
During the visit, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar engaged directly with officers and staff to gather feedback on operational challenges.
Issues raised included maintenance requirements, infrastructure upgrades, and local concerns that require immediate attention.
He emphasised that a conducive working environment, reliable internet connectivity, and well-organised project planning are essential foundations for effective public service delivery.
The State Secretary highlighted the importance of ensuring that rural communities benefit from improved administrative facilities, noting that modern infrastructure and digital access are vital to bridging service gaps between urban and rural areas.
Accompanying him on the visit were Datu Buckland Bangik, Deputy Secretary to the Government (Administration), Datu Grace Huong Siew Hung, Director of the Public Service Digitalisation Unit, Rusmaliza Mat Darus, Director of the Administration Unit, Abdul Wahab Rahim, Director of the Sarawak Security and Enforcement Unit, along with senior officers from the Sarawak Premier’s Department.
The working visit reflects the state government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening administrative capacity and ensuring that district and sub-district offices are equipped to meet the needs of local communities.
By addressing infrastructure and connectivity issues, the initiative aims to enhance efficiency, accessibility, and service quality across Sarawak’s divisions.
