TYT Sarawak, Wife Visit Majma Mall for Ramadan Preparations

TYT Sarawak, Wife Visit Majma Mall for Ramadan Preparations

KUCHING, Feb 19 — His Excellency the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, together with his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi, made a special visit to Majma Mall this afternoon as part of preparations to welcome the holy month of Ramadan.

The visit, which took place at around 1.00 pm, drew attention from members of the public who were present at the shopping complex. Their arrival was warmly received by Datuk Haji Misnu bin Haji Taha, the Yang Dipertua of the Sarawak Islamic Council, along with several senior officers from the council.

According to official information, the purpose of the visit was to personally purchase essential items ahead of Ramadan. It also provided an opportunity for Tun Pehin Sri and Toh Puan to tour the Majma Raya Fest, an event organised to encourage early preparations for Aidilfitri and to create a festive atmosphere for the Muslim community.

During the visit, the couple took time to observe the activities at the mall and interact briefly with organisers and shoppers. The Majma Raya Fest features a variety of stalls offering festive goods, daily necessities, and food items commonly sought during the fasting month and the upcoming Hari Raya celebrations.

The presence of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak and Toh Puan was seen as a strong gesture of support for programmes initiated by the Sarawak Islamic Council. Such initiatives aim to assist the community in making early and organised preparations for Ramadan while also promoting unity and shared responsibility among Sarawakians.

Observers noted that visits like this reflect the leadership’s close connection with the people and their awareness of everyday preparations made by families during significant religious seasons. Ramadan is a time deeply valued by Muslims across the state, marked not only by fasting but also by charity, reflection, and stronger community ties.

In concluding the visit, the Sarawak Islamic Council expressed appreciation for the support shown by Tun Pehin Sri and Toh Puan. The council hopes that activities such as the Majma Raya Fest will continue to bring the community together and help ensure a meaningful and well-prepared Ramadan for all.
