The system leverages river water, pumped and channelled through gravity-fed mechanisms, to irrigate fields and produce renewable energy.

In parallel, the state unveiled plans to address educational disparities by constructing a shared STEM laboratory for schools lacking facilities.

The Premier highlighted that students in underserved areas currently rely on theoretical learning due to inadequate infrastructure.

This common lab will provide hands-on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) experiences, aligning with Sarawak’s broader goals to foster innovation and digital talent.

Additionally, Abang Johari revealed a groundbreaking gallium-based chip developed by a Sarawakian in the UK, marking a global first for automotive applications using rare earth resources.

To harness such advancements, the government will sponsor advanced studies for students to master rare earth technology.

These initiatives reflect Sarawak’s strategic focus on agricultural self-sufficiency and technological empowerment under the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030.

The hydro-pump project supports the state’s ambition to become a regional rice exporter, while the STEM lab aims to cultivate homegrown expertise in high-tech industries.
