SCALE Sarawak Cohort 2 Entrepreneurs Ready to Expand Beyond Borders

KUCHING – A new wave of Sarawakian entrepreneurs is preparing to take their ventures beyond state borders following the successful completion of the SCALE Sarawak Cohort 2 accelerator programme. The initiative, organised by Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) in partnership with Endeavor Malaysia, concluded in October 2025 after five months of intensive mentoring, workshops, and business reviews.

The programme, which ran from May to October, brought together six promising startups: SOL Digital, Belibeli Super App, OINC, Noms Fochun Founders, Kosa Coffee, and Satok Bridge Digital. Each participant underwent a structured development journey designed to sharpen leadership skills, refine business models, and prepare for regional expansion.

The finale, held at the TEGAS Digital Village in Kuching, featured two days of group mentoring, interactive workshops, and panel reviews. These sessions tested the scalability and investment readiness of the participating ventures, ensuring they were equipped to compete in larger markets.

Distinguished mentors, including Shan Li Tay, Mac Chung Lynn, Zeth Lim, Zare Lee, Ziwei Lim, and Anna Chew, shared practical insights on topics such as brand building, customer engagement, and sustainable growth strategies. Their guidance was aimed at helping founders strengthen their long-term vision while addressing immediate operational challenges.

According to TEGAS, the SCALE Sarawak initiative is aligned with the Sarawak Digital Economy Strategy 2030, which seeks to build a future-ready startup ecosystem rooted in innovation, inclusion, and sustainable impact. By collaborating with Endeavor Malaysia, the programme provided participants with access to a wider network of mentors and investors, both locally and regionally.

The accelerator also emphasised peer-to-peer learning, with participants engaging in regular reviews and discussions to exchange knowledge and refine their approaches. This collaborative environment was designed to foster resilience and adaptability, qualities seen as essential for scaling businesses beyond Sarawak.

Observers note that the inclusion of diverse startups, from digital platforms to food and beverage ventures, demonstrates the breadth of Sarawak’s entrepreneurial talent. The programme’s success is expected to inspire more founders to pursue regional opportunities, contributing to the state’s ambition of becoming a hub for innovation-driven enterprises.

TEGAS and Endeavor Malaysia have reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Sarawakian entrepreneurs through future cohorts of SCALE Sarawak. The long-term goal is to create a pipeline of high-growth companies capable of competing on the regional and global stage, while also contributing to the state’s economic transformation.

With Cohort 2 now completed, the participating startups are poised to enter the next phase of their journey, expanding their reach, attracting investment, and building brands that represent Sarawak’s growing presence in the regional business landscape.
