Lundu District Council Strengthens Ties with Iban Chiefs

LUNDU – The Lundu District Council (MDL) has received a courtesy visit from the Lundu Iban Chiefs Association (Raban Tuai Iban Daerah Lundu), led by Pemanca Benjamin Gersit anak Jais.

The meeting, held on 9 January 2026, was aimed at strengthening ties between the council and the Iban community leadership while addressing local issues and community needs.

The visit provided an opportunity for open dialogue between traditional leaders and council management.

Discussions centred on enhancing cooperation in community development, improving local facilities, and ensuring that the voices of the Iban community are represented in district-level planning.

Pemanca Benjamin Gersit emphasised the importance of collaboration between traditional leadership and government institutions.
